Barcelona do not fear taking on City in the Champions League last-16, the Catalan club’s star midfielder has claimed.
Andres Iniesta has refuted Yaya Toure’s claims that Barcelona are “afraid” of facing City .
The two teams will go head-to-head in the last-16 of the Champions League when the continental competition resumes in February.
And, shortly after they were drawn together, Toure insisted the Spaniards are scared of the Blues – not the other way around .
But Iniesta says Tata Martino’s team fear nobody, and is expecting an exciting contest.
When asked if Barca were scared, he told Marca: “No. This is football, the Champions League and Barca cannot be scared of anyone.
“It’s going to be an intense and exciting tie. I think City was the toughest side we could have drawn and will prove a good test for us.”
The World Cup-winning Spain star did however acknowledge that Manuel Pellegrini’s team are playing well when asked to pick out Europe’s in-form sides.
“City is doing great, Bayern, we’re up there too, Atlético,” he added. “[But] the ties are in two months and a lot can change in that time.
