World number two Novak Djokovic is through to the semi-finals of the Paris Masters after seeing off ATP World Tour qualifier Stanislas Wawrinka 6-1, 6-4 in Friday’s quarter-finals match.
The second seed’s victory over the Swiss at the Palais Omnisports, Paris, was his 15th in quick succession, taking his season’s record to 65-9.
A fired up Djokovic led 3-0 before Wawrinka could register a point against the Serb in the first set. The 26-year-old 2009 champion won 80% of his first service points, hit 11 aces and converted two of his break point opportunities to see off the set which lasted for only 27 minutes.
In the second set, Djokovic saved four break points before breaking to love in the 7th game, when the 28-year-old Swiss, who will be making his first appearance at the season finale in London next month, hit a backhand wide.
Djokovic, who also won five-setters against Wawrinka a the Australian and US Opens this year, will net play either third seed and defending champion David Ferrer or Sixth seed Tomas Berdych.
