Local Government Former Chairman Jailed For N7m Fraud

A Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, on Wednesday sentenced a former Chairman of Davi Local Government Area, Mr. Enesi Jimoh, to 6 months in jail.

sentenceThe politician was found guilty of converting N7m belonging to the council to personal use while in office.

This moeny should have been spent on borehole for communities in the council area.

Enesi and a former Commissioner for Agriculture of the state, Samuel Ojo, were arraigned in March, 2010. However, Ojo was discharged by the court after a no-case submission was filed by the defence counsel, H.O Agumbiodun in June 2012.

  1. If the ex chairman could be found guilty for N7m only and jailed without option,what happen to ex Governor Idris Carpenter?.This country can never be ok until the big ones are tried and jailed.We do hope the judgement was done in good faith without any bias.Foxy Man.
