LG Spends N37m To Upgrade Primary Health Centre In Sokoto

lagos-hospital3-300x225Alhaji Faruk Yar-Rimawa, the Chairman, Goronyo Local Government, Sokoto State, said on Monday that the council spent about N37 million to upgrade the 50-bed rural primary health centre at Yar-Rimawa.

Yar-Rimawa told the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in Sokoto that the project was part of the council’s commitment to an effective and qualitative health care delivery in the area.

He said that the upgraded primary health centre had been equipped with the necessary medical facilities.

Yar-Rimawa said the council was partnering with the Sultan Abdulrahaman School of Health Technology, Gwadabawa, for the re-training of its health personnel.

“We want them to acquire more knowledge, to enable them to manage our health institutions for the common good of our people,” he said.

He reiterated the determination of the council to continue to provide basic working tools for the sector in addressing the health care needs of the people.
Yar-Rimawa also called on the people not to hesitate to report any outbreak of epidemic to the nearest health centers across the local government for prompt action. (NAN)
