Women’s Football League Super Six Date Shifted for World Cup Qualifiers.

The proposed Nigeria Women’s Professional League (NWPL) Super Six final scheduled for October 20-26 at the Smason Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State will be moved to a later date.

This revelations were made known to supersport.com by the chairperson of the NWPL, Dilichukwu Onyedinma, stating that the dates are not feasible due to the involvement of some players in the women’s national teams.

“The dates clashed with the Falconets’ World Cup qualifying match and that of the Under-17, the Flamingoes,” she said.

“We won’t want to create an uneven ground for clubs whose players will be involved in the national assignments, we’ll want all the six teams to have their best legs available for the Super Six clash.

“Those dates are no longer feasible including the scheduled venues, we’ll sit down to work out a suitable new date and venue after the teams’ qualifying matches.”

The Super Six competition is a season-ending programme on the league body’s calendar which determines the winners of its regular league season.
