“Presidential Package” Awaits Eagles on Qualification.

President Goodluck Jonathan will reward the Super Eagles when they qualify for the 2014 Fifa World Cup slated for Brazil, according to the Director General of the National Sports Commission Gbenga Elegbeleye.

The Eagles launch their bid for a fifth appearance at the biggest world football tournament, when they play in Ethiopia on Sunday with the return leg billed for November 15 in Calabar.

The president has already approved funds for about 200 Super Eagles fans to troop into Addis Ababa, the venue of Sunday’s playoff against the ‘Walyas Antelopes’, to spur on the team to greatness.

Elegbeleye, on Tuesday, said “a Presidential package” has been prepared for the Eagles on qualification.

“We have a special package for the Eagles once they qualify for the World Cup. It’s a Presidential package. And we are already preparing for the package because we know the Eagles will qualify,” the Director General told MTNFootball.com.

In February, the President rewarded the team with hefty cash gifts, plots of land and national honours after they won for the nation a third African Cup of Nation (Afcon) title in 19 years in South Africa.
