NSCDC Deploys 120,000 Personnel For Oct. 1st Celebrations

NSCDCDr Ade Abolurin, the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said the organisation had deployed 120,000 personnel to boost security during the 53rd Independence Celebrations nationwide.

The commandant general made this known duringĀ a media briefing on Monday in Abuja.

He said the NSCDC would continue to ensure the protection of the lives and properties of Nigerians at all times.

According to him the corps has apprehended 823 suspects between January and September across the country.

He said, of the 823 apprehended, 782 were currently being prosecuted for various crimes.

AbolurinĀ said the corps, in collaboration with relevant agencies of government, had convicted 41 suspects arrested for vandalising

critical infrastructures across the country.

HeĀ said 230 illegal oil wells were destroyed by the corps, while more than 3,000 drums and 7,000 kegs of stolen petroleum products were intercepted. (NAN)
