NFF Debunks Ogunjobi’s Claims He is Being Victimised.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has denied claims by its erstwhile Secretary General, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, that the ten-year ban from all football related activities handed him by the federation was a scheme to scuttle his political ambition for the forthcoming board election.

High Chief Emeka Inyama told Sports Vanguard on Wednesday that Ogunjobi’s claims that the NFF was trying to rope him was “baseless and lacked merit.”

“This board believes in playing according to the rules and we are a very responsible board,” he told the news tabloid.

Following Super Eagles’ victory in Addis Ababa, the Executive Committee of the NFF, in accordance with recommendations submitted by the barrister Chris Green-led technical committee investigating the ex-NFF board member, slammed a ten-year ban on the Oyo State football administrator for his alleged involvement in the transfer saga involving Flying Eagles striker Olarenwaju Kayode.

“There was an issue, a clear cut case against Ogunjobi and the board set up a panel which went to work immediately. The panel made its findings and the recommendations to the board. It was based on this that the board established a case against Chief Ogunjobi,” Inyama recalled.

“It was discovered that he compromised his high offices as Secretary General of the federation, a development we found unacceptable.”

Inyama also rubbished Chief Ogunjobi’s allegation that he was being victimised because of his ambition to contest in the forthcoming board elections.

“To the best of my knowledge, nobody knows Ogunjobi’s ambition. Has he declared for any post? And, by the way, nobody knows when the elections is coming up. How could we have read his mind to know that he was nursing an ambition for an elections nobody knows the date yet,” he explained.
