Namo Relishes Camping Experience Despite Missing Out of Keshi’s Squad for Jordan Friendly

Victor Namo’s hope of making his Super Eagles debut in an international friendly against Jordan may have to wait till the next opportunity, but the Nasarawa United marksman has expressed satisfaction with the experience of camping with the team B ahead of Monday tie.

Coach Stephen Keshi dropped Namo, who finished the 2012/13 Glo Premier League season as top scorer with 18 goals, from his squad for the friendly.

Never-less the 24-year-old striker has taken his exclusion in good faith.

“I didn’t make the final list for Jordan, all of us can’t go, but my experience in camp was a good one for me,” said Namo to MTNFootball.com.

“I have learnt a lot, I won’t be a novice next time in the national team camp with the experience. I am looking forward to more of such experience.”

Namo also reacted to critics who have questioned his competence as a striker, after 13 of his 18 goals came from the penalty spot.

“Penalties are the most difficult part of scoring goals because everyone even the fans expect you to score,” the former Kano Pillars front-man added.

“For me the goals I got during regular play were the easiest. I was therefore amused when I heard people saying I got more of my goals from penalties.”
