Nadal Pulls Out of Swiss Indoors.

World number one Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from next week’s Swiss Indoors tournament in Basle citing fatigue.

The 27-year-old Spaniard regained the top position of the ATP rankings after a fine run of results since returning from a seven-month lay-off with a knee problem.

Nadal was due to play at the tournament- which also features Rodger Federer, who is in the race to reach next month’s World Tour Finals.

“Sorry to announce that I won’t travel to Basel in Switzerland, but after very exhausting weeks I have to regroup my fitness and my body,” said Nadal.

“I will do my best to come back to the Swiss Indoors next year.”

He has won 10 titles in 2013, including the French and the US Opens. The Paris Masters will be next for the Marjocan at the end of the month, before the season-ending World Tour Finals in London in November.
