N255m Armored Vehicles: Jonathan On Top Of The Situation – Presidency

Published

on

stella-jonathanPresident Goodluck Jonathan will not shield the Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah if she’s found guilty by relevant agencies of abusing her office in the allegation over the purchase of two bulletproof vehicles.

The vehicles valued at an allegedly over-priced sum of $1.6m (about N225m) were said to have been delivered to the minister through the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, in August.

The president’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak, who made this known in an interview on Friday, however, warned that Mr. Jonathan would not take a decision on the fate of the embattled minister based on media reports.

He said President Jonathan’s decision would be based on verifiable facts, which could only be achieved when relevant government agencies investigate the matter.

He did not, however, disclose when the President would order the probe just as he also did not state the name of the agency that would conduct the investigation.

Gulak said, “I can assure you that President Jonathan will not shield the minister or any government official for that matter if he receives information that is true.

“In this particular instance, the reports are in the media. But media reports are not enough to act on.

“The President is on top of the situation. He will direct appropriate authorities to investigate the matter.

“Anybody found wanting in terms of corruption or impunity, President Jonathan will not hesitate to show such person the way out of his government.

“The most important thing is that such decision must be based on facts as provided by appropriate government agencies that will investigate, not based on media reports”, the presidential aide reiterated.

    VERY ABNORMAL !!!…..George

    * The president of the RICHEST & Most POWERFUL nation on earth, Barack Obama (who is constantly under threat) uses GM Custom-built ”The Beast” as his Official Car. It costs $300,000 (46 million Naira)

    * The official state car of Emperor Akihito of Japan (world’s 3rd largest economy) is a custom built Toyota Century Royal worth $500,000 (76million Naira)

    * The British (7th largest economy) Prime Minister rides a custom built Jaguar which costs £200,000 (52 million Naira)

    * The President of war-torn Iraq uses a bullet-proof BMW E67 760 Li valued at $500,000 (76million Naira)

    * The MINISTER OF AVIATION of poverty stricken sub-saharan Nigeria purchased TWO BMW Li HSS at the cost of $796,846.21 each, totalling $1,593,687.31 (or N255,150,000) to protect herself from several threats received as a result of her unprecedented reforms of the ‘accident free’ aviation sector in Nigeria.

Life goes on. Business continues as usual. Yet you think our system is not ABNORMAL ?…Like others,it would be swept under the carpet. Kick Out Siddon Look, Our MuMu Don Do

@george,thanks for your better analysis and more enlightment, though i’d wished to keep mute before, until i saw your comment, this kind of unethical and indiscipline act didn’t just begin on this culprit but had begun since our independence era but just increasing in our every breathe hours;what kind of punishment has exercised on past culprits of such offences? We set rules of moral conduct, which means any caught culprit will dance to the tune, but they’re the N0.1 culprits that exercise impunity when they’re caught. Arguably, they’ll never desist from this unethical act because as the says goes’birds of feather flocks together’, they’re the same and both have skeleton in their cupboard. Those that establish, regulate, and implement the condut law are the bane and scourge to our development and impunity type and only make laws that always favour themselves.

“There have been challenges along the line – the inclement national financial weather, the COVID-19 pandemic and others not so significant. But you have weathered the storm admirably and steadied the ship of state.

“The challenges will no doubt present a new format as you step into the third year. These are heightened political participation, pressure to deliver more dividends of democracy and increased demands from the political system. I have no doubt that you will cope nicely.

“Please continue to make the welfare of the people your biggest concern. They are the reason for the state. Without them there will be no government or any political office to occupy.

“Once again, congratulations, as I wish you a resounding success in office and every aspect of life.

“My kind regards to the good wife, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola and the entire cabinet of the State of Osun.”
