A German couple’s marriage got off to a rocky start when the groom left his bride behind at a petrol station on the way home from their honeymoon.
The couple were heading home to Berlin from France when the husband pulled over their van near the town of Bad Hersfeld late on Thursday.
The wife had been asleep in the back but got up to use the toilet while her man was filling up.
Unfortunately he did not realise she had left the van and drove off before she could return.
As if this were not bad enough, he didn’t notice she had gone until he had been on the road for two and a half hours.
When he realised his mistake, he called the police who told him she was patiently waiting for him to return.
