FG Creating Hostile Environment In Rivers For Amaechi’s Downfall – New PDP

Chibuike Rotimi AmaechiThe Abubakar Kawu Baraje led Peoples’ Democratic Party, otherwise known as the “New PDP”, yesterday accused the Federal Government of deliberately creating a hostile environment for Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State to be able to discharge his duties well.

The Baraje PDP described Amaechi as a role model for remaining steadfast and displaying exemplary leadership despite “the hostile atmosphere deliberately imposed on the state by the federal authorities in their failed mission to bring about his downfall”.

In a statement issued by its national publicity secretary, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the “new PDP” commended Gov. Amaechi for scoring yet another first with the unveiling of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital as the first city in Nigeria to become the UNESCO World Book Capital.

The statement noted that Port Harcourt defeated other famous cities like Oxford (England) and Moscow (Russia) to become the UNESCO World Book Capital 2014.

The New PDP said “the event of last weekend was one in a series of events designed to usher in the 2014 dateline when Port Harcourt will become UNESCO 2014 World Book Capital.”
