2014 World Cup Playoff: FIFA Frees Egypt to Host Ghana in Cairo

Egypt will hold their 2014 World Cup playoff second-leg against the Black Stars of Ghana in Cairo after the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) passed their plans for a secured hosting venue fit.

FIFA said their decision was based on guarantee from the Egyptian government and the decision to allow Al Ahly to play a Champions League match in Cairo.

Ghana has twice written to football’s world governing body (FIFA) their security concerns for the 19 November tie, opting for a switch of venue because of the political unrest in Cairo.
