PDP: We’ll Continue To Triumph Over Opposition

TukurThe Peoples Democratic Party on Saturday described opposition political parties in Nigeria as lacking in ideas and knowledge on the genuine aspirations of Nigerians.

The ruling party, however, maintained that while it is the party to beat, it cannot rest on its oars as the ‘challenge is daunting.’

This was the position of Dr. Bamanga Tukur, National Chairman of the PDP at the party’s special national convention at Eagle Square, Abuja.

He said, “The opposition has no solid idea to make them acceptable to the electorate.  They only resort to blackmail and propaganda.

“They lack ideas on the genuine aspirations of the people. They don’t know what the people want. The PDP has triumphed over them before and we will also triumph over them again.”

While observing the political trends in the country, Tukur urged members to close ranks in order to remain formidable.

He said, “The leaders and followers must work together. They must remain united. We must brace for the task ahead. Not yet Uhuru.

“There must be no factions. We must close ranks. The challenge is daunting, but we must resolve to make it work.”

The national chairman re-assured President Goodluck Jonathan of the party’s support for his transformation agenda even as he commended the governors elected on the party’s platform for delivering democracy dividends to their people.
