Go And Sin No More: Chief Judge Frees Eight Inmates In Nasarawa

PrisonEight inmates have been freed from prison by the Nasarawa State Chief Judge, Justice Suleiman Umaru Diko.

Justice Diko granted the inmates freedom last Thursday during his quarterly visit to all prison formations across the state.

The freed inmates are Dahiru Abdullahi, Kingsly Edward, Aslum David, Mustapha Ishai, Maryam Abdullahi and Ali Haruna from Lafia prisons, while David Samuel and Sunday Kodan, who were discharged based on health grounds, were serving time at the Wamba prison.

Justice Diko told newsmen that the exercise was part of efforts to decongest prisons in the state.

Assuring awaiting trial inmates of his commitment to speedy execution of cases, the Chief Judge warned those who have regained freedom to go and sin no more.

He also urged the Chief Magistrate Court and Area court judges to be fair in the discharge of their duties
