Agagu: Mimiko Sets Up 11-Man Burial Committee

olusegun-agagu-and-olusegun-mimikoGovernor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State on Monday constituted an 11-man burial committee for his predecessor, Dr Olusegun Agagu, who died last Friday.

A statement by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr Kayode Akinmade in Akure, the state capital, said “Following the demise of the immediate past governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Agagu, on Friday, September 13, 2013 at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos, Governor Olusegun Mimiko has constituted a high-powered state committee in conjunction with the family of the deceased to plan a befitting state burial for the former governor.”

It named the Chief of Staff to the state governor, Dr Kola Ademujimi, as the  head of  the committee with Mr Kayode Akinmade and Mrs Nike Ademujimi, both commissioners for Information and  Commerce and Industry respectively, as members.

Others are Mr Nicolas Tofowomo, Commissioner for Transport, Jumoke Akindele, Soji Akinkurolire, Mr Eni Akinsola, Evangelist Niyi Pirisola, Mrs O O Ajayi and Mr Ife Fasoranti with Rev Soji Gbadebo as Secretary.

The Ondo State Government had on Sunday declared a seven-day mourning period starting from Monday in honour of the departed former governor.
