Adamawa SSG: Tukur Doing PDP More Harm Than Good

TukurSecretary to the Adamawa State Government, Kobis Aris, has said unless the national chairman of Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur is removed from office, there would be no end to the crisis rocking the ruling party.

Aris, who was reacting to a statement made by Tukur in Calabar, Cross River State on Thursday that those behind the formation of a parallel faction of the party are “rascals”, said by his utterances and actions, the embattled national chairman had shown that he was incapable of leading the party.

The “New PDP” was formed by former vice president Atiku Abubakar together with seven aggrieved PDP governors including Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano) and Aliyu Wammako (Sokoto).

But the Adamawa SSG said, “It will be difficult to bring peace into the party, with Tukur still there as national chairman. His utterances are unfriendly while his comments are antagonistic.

“Being a father and with his age, he ought to speak with some level of decorum. But instead of using all these as advantage, he is using them negatively. He is doing the party more harm than good.”
