Okorocha Laments Ojukwu’s Absence At APC Rally •Faults APGA-PDP Romance

Rochas Okorocha (2)If Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the late national leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) were to be alive, he would be the first to join the recently registered All Progressive Congress (APC), Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has said.

The governor, who could not hold back the tears while speaking yesterday in Awka, the Anambra State capital at a rally to formally present Senator Chris Ngige as the consensus governorship candidate of the APC in the forthcoming Anambra governorship polls, lamented that the death of Ojukwu had left Ndigbo rudderless.

“Oh, I wish our leader, the Ikemba Ndigbo, were still alive to see the formation of APC. He should have asked Ndigbo to embrace it in their interest,” he cried.

Okorocha told those present at the Emmaus House in Awka that he believed that APC was “a truly national party that has the interest of the Igbo as one of its cardinal pursuits,” saying “that is why I want all of you to support the party because its symbol, the broom, is a sign of Igbo identity.”

He added that, “APGA is dead and what we have now is APGA-PDP and they want to extend their slavery of the Igbo people which we are out to fight against.”

Gov. Okorocha stated that a good number of people from the South-East geo-political zone hold “good national offices in the APC, including the Deputy National Chairman position occupied by Senator Annie Okonkwo.”

This, he said was an indication that if APC wins the 2015 nation’s election, “if an Igbo man does not become the vice president, he would become the Senate President or the national chairman of the APC.”

  1. I have beginning to realize that Rochas Okorocha cares for Igbos,
All his defensive to APC is about the future of Igbos,
That is a sign of good leader,
Let our leaders who cares for future of Igbos listing to governor Rochas Okorocha.

  2. The way i see all this. PDP is a fail party i no but GEJ did not cause it. An Ibo man is long over due to lead and the only way i can be part of APC is when an Ibo man is the Flag bearer. But one thing keep bothering me GEJ is from the South-South he represent the Minorities so to speak, this gentleman choosen by God have suffered more in leadership than any other leaders in Nigeria, all hands were on desk especially from the North to make sure he fail,to me i think we owe him 2015 to compensate him before an Ibo man comes in so that the equation will be balance. I rest my Case.
