A housewife, Hauwa Abdulwahab, of Rigasa Community in Kaduna State has dragged her husband, Umar Abdullahi, to the Magajin Gari Sharia Court, Kaduna, seeking dissolution of their marriage, threatening suicide if the court failed to grant her prayer.

According to Hauwa, she was no longer interested in the marriage, and she would rather commit suicide than stay in the house of the defendant.

Hauwa therefore prayed the court to help collect her property from the accused, including two vehicles a Toyota Matrix and a Honda Concerto.

She also listed a three-bedroom flat, N100,000 cash, visa and passport as well as $200 cash, as other items she wanted the court to help her recover.

The defendant, Abdulalahi, however pleaded not guilty.

Abdullahi told the court that the house being claimed did not belong to Hauwa, saying it was the father of the complainant that gave him the house and the certificate of occupancy for the property.

While adjourning the matter till August 30, Presiding Officer, Khadi Ibrahim Mohammed, ordered the accused to remain in the disputed house for the time being.

Mohammed also ordered both parties to come with their parents during the next hearing of the matter.
