Public Defecation: Sokoto Govt Purchases N8m Mobile Toilets

shitotunbatoiletThe Sokoto State Commissioner for Environment, Dr Jabbi Kilgori, yesterday said the state government has purchased 30 mobile toilets worth N8 million to discourage open defecation.

Kilgori told newsmen that the ministry has already taken delivery of 12 of the 30 toilets. “The balance of the 18 of these toilets will soon be received and they will be deployed to various private and public places like motor parks, schools and road inter-sections in Sokoto metropolis and its environs. The state government is deeply concerned about the menace of open defection and these mobile toilets are just to discourage that obnoxious habit,” he said.

Kilgori also announced that the government would procure additional 20 refuse collection bunkers and 200 refuse collection skips to complement existing ones. (NAN)
