My Problem With Police Commissioner Personal, Says Amaechi At Police Chapel Fundraiser

Rivers-State-Gov.-Mr-Rotimi-Amaechi-MbuThe no-love lost relationship between Governor Rotimi Amaechi and the Police Commissioner in Rivers State is a based on individual issues which has not strained the cordial relationship between both institutions, the deputy governor of the state, Mr. Tele Ikuru, has said.

Mr. Ikuru made the declaration yesterday during the launch of N100m Christian Police Chapel building fund, where he represented his boss.

He said, “As a matter of fact, one will wonder why Rivers State is here today (at the fundraiser), especially when you know we are having issues with the police here and there; it’s neither here nor there, but the bottom line is whether we are having issues or not, wherever we see good things we support it.

“I say so because today, for the first time in the history of the police force, at your headquarters, you have been able to muster enough courage to say it is time we seek the face of God. And seeking the face of God you say let us put an edifice; let us gather and build a house of the Lord.

“I want to reassure you that the Rivers State government is your partner. Whatever may have happened is on individual basis. As a government, in this entire country, for those who have been privileged to serve in Rivers State, you know that Rivers State supports the police most in this entire country,” he said.
