Heartland have set up a three-man panel of inquiry to look into allegations that some members of the Owerri club either compromised themselves or sold out the team in the controversial 1-0 defeat by regional rivals Enyimba during Week 20 Glo Premier League fixture at the Dan Anyiam Stadium two weeks ago.

Heartland chairman, Chief Fan Ndubuoke stated that he was acting in accordance with the directive of the commissioner for youth and sports following the allegations, coupled with the dwindling form of the ‘Naze Millionaires.’

Led by High Chief MacDonald Amadi, members of the panel have been charged to identify the role of management members, coaches and or players in any such sell out. Other members of the panel are Mr Chukas Eregbu and Mr Venatius T. Eke.

The panel is also to identify the reasons behind the sudden drop in form of the Glo Premier League side. Identify the person(s) within the state (Imo) working against the progress of the team and promoting the perceived gang-up against the club at home and also to investigate the role of security agents in the intimidation of the team at its home ground.

The chairman of the panel, Amadi, assured that the panel will meet the expectation of Imo people. The panel has two weeks to complete its work.
