Maicon Joins Roma, Rodgers Says Arsenal’s Bid for Suarez Is Too Small.

Former Inter Milan right-back Maicon has completed a permanent move to Italian side Roma for an undisclosed fee.

The Brazilian joined the Sky Blues from Inter Milan in 2012, but failed to impress last season, struggling with injuries and made just 13 appearances in all competitions.

In his six-year-spell at Inter, the 31-year-old enjoyed won numerous trophies with the Nezzaruzis.

Also, Former Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda has joined Turkish side Trabzonspor.

Malouda was released by Chelsea at the end of last season, having spent six years at Stamford Bridge, and has signed a two-year contract.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers intends to keep unsettled Uruguayan striker Luiz Suarez following rumours of a bid from Arsenal. The manager believes Arsenal’s initial offer for Suarez is well below his worth and that the club wants to keep him unless “something drastic happens.”

“We had an offer that came to the club, but it was nowhere near the value and worth of what we feel that Luis brings.

“He’s very much a Liverpool player, unless something drastic happens that would make us even consider it,” said Rodgers from the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, where the Kops are on a pre-season tour.
