Six Killed In Ogun As 20 Armed Robbers Unleash Terror

Armed robbers numbering about 20 on Saturday invaded Ifo community in Ifo local government area of Ogun State, killing six people including five operatives of the Ogun State Vigilante Service.

The robbers, it was learnt were members of a gang that specialized in robbing banks and allied institutions.

The robbers, who allegedly operated in an unmarked lorry, entered a filling station and shot five men of the Vigilante Service guarding the place.

One of the petrol station attendants was also shot dead.

Sources said the robbers engaged men of the State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in a gun battle before escaping.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident but said only two persons were killed.
