No Vehicle Plunged Into Lagoon Near Third Mainland Bridge – NEMA

imagesCAFDK2PMContrary to its earlier confirmation that two vehicles plunged into the Lagos Lagoon, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has said that its findings revealed nothing of such happened.

NEMA said the distress call on a commercial bus and a car plunging into the lagoon was a hoax.

After confirming the incident earlier, the agency said that it mobilized its officers to the scene of the alleged incident only to discover that it was untrue.

The spokesman for the south-west zone of the agency, Ibrahim Farinloye said, “The police on the 3rd Mainland Bridge told us that a yellow commercial bus offloaded its passengers and in its effort of trying to take off hit a private car with dent on d car.

“The two parties have since left to their respective destinations after settling (by the police) the matter for them,” he added.
