Chelsea FC midfielder John Obi Mikel might be on his way to the Turkish League as reports claim he has given his word to champions Galatasaray to be part of them.

The prospect of any possible agreement between the two clubs depends on the decisions of Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho, if he’s willing to part ways with the midfielder he brought from Lyn Oslo in 2006.

At the moment, a leading Turkish football website, fotomac, has run a report stating that Galatasaray sporting director Bulent Tulun has disclosed that Mikel agreed in principle to join them.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been touted to replace Brazilian footballer Philipe Melo, who is on his way out of the Istanbul club to either Italy or Brazil.

Mikel’s current contract at Chelsea runs until June 2017 meaning the Turkish champions will have to trigger his release clause if a deal should be reached.

There have not been words from the West London club on the possible reunion of the midfielder, who has scored 3 times for the national team in 38 appearances, with former teammate Didier Drogba.
