Kano Hisbah Board Arrests Man Over Sale Of Children At N30,000

HisbahThe Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested a middle-aged man, who allegedly specialises in trafficking of children and selling children at between N30,000 and N60,000 each.

Director-General of the board Alhaji Abba Sufi said in Kano yesterday that the suspect was arrested on Wednesday by staff of the board in Gwale local government area and had since been handed over to the police for further investigation.

Sufi said the suspect was arrested after selling a three-year-old girl at N60,000 to his customer at Rijiyar Lemo quarters in Kano metropolis.

“On investigation, the suspect was found to be a human trafficker, who has been in the business for a long time and has been selling each child at between N30,000 and N60,000,’’ he said.

Sufi said 90 per cent of cases being handled by NAPTIP in the state were forwarded from the board.

He urged parents to ensure proper upbringing of their children to enable them to become useful members of the society. (NAN)
