Andres Iniesta, in a recent internet chat, relished the opportunity of going to Brazil for two great soccer showpieces, the Confederation Cup and the World Cup.

A World and European champion, Iniesta also wants the Spanish national team to go far in the tournament so as to have the privilege of playing in the Maracana Stadium.

On Sunday, Spain lines up against Uruguay in a Group B match of the Confederation Cup and the Barcelona midfielder is already looking forward to the Brazil experience.

“For me and for any other player, going to Brazil to play football is one of a kind,” said Iniesta. “First in the Confederations Cup and then later to go back in the World Cup, it will be magical.

“Brazil is a special place for all of us. I just hope we can play important matches in the Maracana, it would mean that the national team had gone far in both tournaments.”

The 29-year-old has been very useful in both club and national team’s midfield, his dribbling and accurate link-up plays have been a major contribution to the Spanish team on their way to dominating world football.

With two European championships and a World Cup trophy, the Spaniards are considered one of the favourites to lift the Confederation Cup, with Brazil being another side.

The midfielder fancies the opportunity of playing against teenage sensation Neymar dos Santos, who just signed for Barcelona.

“It would be very special to play against Neymar and the Brazillian national team because of what it represents and the level of talent it has,” Iniesta said.

“A Spain v Brazil final would be an amazing game, but we have to see how the group phase goes.”
