Delta Council PDP Suspends N’Delta Affairs Minister, Orubebe, 9 Others

Elder-GodsDay-OrubebeThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State on Tuesday, wielded the big stick on the Minister of  Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe and nine others as it suspended them from the party.

They were accused of misconducts likely to bring about disrepute, hatred, contempt and anti-party activities against the party.

In a press release signed by the party chairman, Pastor Kenneth Ogeibiri, secretary, Ozano Ayedi and three others after its meeting which held in Burutu town, headquarters of Burutu Local Government Area, Delta state Tuesday, the party stated that the suspension followed the receipt of petitions from concerned PDP faithful against  Orubebe and nine others.

The statement read in part: “after a preliminary hearing pursuant to Section 21.4 of the PDP constitution as amended, and by the virtue of the powers conferred on us, the working committee of the party via Section 21.4 of the same constitution, we hereby place Elder Godsday Orubebe and his nine cohorts on suspension.

“The suspension is triggered off by series of allegations of gross misconduct ranging from acts likely to bring the party to disrepute, hatred, contempt and anti-party activities. In light of these, Elder Godsday Orubebe and the affected nine others are hereby referred to the PDP disciplinary committee, Burutu Local Government Area chapter for further investigations,” the statement concluded.
