Newly promoted Rizespor FC of Turkey will renew Enyimba FC’s on- loan Uche Kalu’s contract, with the hope that the Nigerian forward will deliver in the Turkish Super Lig next season.
Rizespor gained automatic promotion from the second- tier league and Uche Kalu had a good first season outing with the club before a nagging injury put paid to his season and contract at the club. The injury also stopped him from making the Africa Cup of Nations team that travelled to South Africa in February, but the striker had already made nine goals for the club before the injury.
According to the players agent Hayat Sen, Uche Kalu was an instant hit for the newly- promoted Rizespor and will under normal circumstances be re- signed by the club. He added that negotiation will soon begin with Enyimba FC, the mother- club of the striker.
“Uche Kalu will play for Rizespor next season all things been equal. He was doing well with the team before injury set in. He is loved by the team and they want him to play for them in the Super Lig,” Hayat Sen told MTNFootball.com.
“I am sure he will be re- signed when the transfer opens in the summer. He was signed from Enyimba on loan and talks will soon open with Enyimba on a deal to return.”
