The Supersand Eagles have arrived Morroco, ahead of the African qualifiers for the Beach Soccer World Cup billed for Tahiti in September.

A 12- man squad from the Nigeria beach soccer national team arrived Morocco at about noon on Sunday and immediately checked into their hotel as they seek to start preparations to secure one of the two slots available for Africa for the Beach Soccer World Cup.

Abu Azeez, who emerged top scorer at last year’s Copa Lagos Beach Tourney, disclosed that the team had arrived Morocco and are rearing to go.

“We arrived safely and we are really set for the stiff challenges ahead,” Azeez told www.supersport.com.

“The team knows what is at stake and we are going to make sure we do our best to make the nation proud, by not only qualifying but also doing well at the world championship in Tahiti,” Azeez added.

Senegal are the reigning Africa beach soccer champions, after seeing off Nigeria in the final of the 2011 edition held in Morocco.

The Supersand Eagles remains a formidable force on the continent, after representing Africa at the world stage on numerous occasions.

The team is made up of beach soccer stars, such as captain and Dolphins FC midfielder, Isiaka Olawale, Ogbonnaya Okemmiri and top scorer Victor Tale.
