Striker Obafemi Martins was once again on target in Seattle Sounders’ 4-2 victory over FC Dallas on Sunday.

The former Levante striker was a 63rd minute substitute for Mario Martinez and netted the fourth goal of the proceedings in the 83rd minute.

Martins, who has scored three goals in three consecutive matches applauded his team’s effort.

“The players did well before my coming in and I did my best scoring a goal as well and we won. We scored four goals which is good, so I am very happy for that,” said Martins.

“I spoke to Lamar and Eddie and playing close to each other because the more we pass the ball to each other it is easier to play. We have been doing that in training, which is good. I’m happy for that because we did well.

“Scoring goals is always important, we can pass the ball around but the striker is why I am here- scoring goals, and its happening.

“We worked hard for it and it was a good win. We hope to continue like this since we have a long way to go.”

Martins also believe he is getting back to full fitness.

“I am getting there. The fact that I am playing from the second- half and trying to help the team as well, I think it’s good,” Martins added.

“When I first came I said I wanted to score a lot of goals and it’s happening now. I hope it continues to be like this, and the important thing is to win, to get the three points.”
