Football World Pays Tributes to Ferguson on Twitter.

Social Media had been abuzz with the rumours of Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement from Manchester United and when the news was finally confirmed on Wednesday morning, it was Twitter that led the charge with the tributes to the most successful manager in British football.

Some of Ferguson’s former players and opponents lent their voices to the tributes. Below, is a selection of the Tweets:

Rud van Nistlerooy took his time to ponder on his glorious Manchester United career under Ferguson.

Michael Owen sounded like many others who had waited for the occasion, but still can’t believe.
