British number one Laura Robson will play Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark in the first round of the French Open.

Former world number one Wozniacki will travel to the French capital on the wake of four consecutive losses on clay while top seed Serena Williams will hope to put behind the disappointments of last year’s shock first- round loss to Virginie Razzano when she plays Georgia’s Anna Tatishvili. Williams’ only Roland Garros title came in 2002.

Maria Sharapova will hope to defend the title she won in 2012 when she begins against Su- Wei Hsieh of Chinese Taipei.

British number two Heather Watson will play Stefanie Voegele, while Elena Baltacha takes on Marina Erakovic.

Andy Murray’s absence due to injury means there are no Britons in the men’s singles for the first time since 1994.

Rafael Nadal will hope to win his eight French Open title at the Roland Garros. Having been seeded third, the Spaniard could meet world number one Novak Djokovic in the semi- finals after they were drawn in the same half.

Nadal begins his championship against Germany’s Daniel Brands, while Djokovic is up against Belgian David Goffin.
