OPC to hunt down kidnappers of Ejigbo LCDA boss

Yesterday, Dr. Frederick Fasehun, Founder and President of the Oodua People’s Congress, had directed his members in Lagos and the South-West to work in collaboration with security operatives in their effort to hunt down the kidnappers of the Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Chairman, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan.

Also yesterday, the Lagos State Police Command confirmed that they had recovered Bamigbetan’s vehicle where it got stuck in the mud.

However, following a call reportedly being made to his wife, Fatima, asking a ransom of $1million, about N158 million naira for his release, there were indications that the unidentified gunmen were indeed kidnappers.

On the fateful day, the chairman’s vehicle was reportedly intercepted by some gunmen. Since the driver was the only occupant with him in the vehicle, the driver made efforts to escape when he saw the gunmen by engaging the reverse gear. But the effort was in vain when the car got trapped in the mud after hitting a pole as the driver tried to avoid potholes.

The driver, Olayiwola, managed to escape but the chairman could not after the gunmen threatened to shoot him dead if he tried to make any move.
