Job Description

Position Summary -:
This person will work closely with the business line, directly within the market and cross functionally within the organization to identify and evaluate product opportunities and ensure their success in the market with rigorous validation and product differentiations.
Identify and analyze product opportunities for their commercial impact and competitive differentiation.
CORE RESPONSIBILITY:
Primary Focus: Product Development Guidance—value prop and market/customer insight in driving the development of world-class House hold (HH ) products to Nigerian market.
Effectively identifies, analyzes and articulates market insight, customer needs, buying preferences and value proposition for target segments that drives successful new development and delivery of products and services.
Collaborates in the development of long-term portfolio planning and develops strategic price-setting strategies and long-term platform and product roadmap for platform and product development.
Drives development of product and sales platform roadmaps that successfully merge customer needs (articulated and latent), customer requirements with developments for HH product category success.
Produces and drives credible market-based forecasts. Sizes market opportunities and profit pools for new product development. Provides valuable insight to the product generation process and ensures successful preparation of products for launch into the marketplace.
Produces comprehensive, effective and actionable product plans.
Utilizes customer and competitive knowledge to drive differentiated product positioning for a product line or platform and smooth transition of new product in the in-market portfolio.
Identifies, establishes, and manages strategic partnerships, including relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry opinion leaders.
This position focus on identifying Nigerian customer needs for existing Household 500+ SKU’s , propose each of exiting SKU’s based user requirements & customer segmentations.
This includes identifying unique attributes of each SKU & support / match customer requirements on continuous basis, according to which segment we are servicing.
Make clear plans to meet those identified needs & propose which needs to be adjusted based customer priorities
Liaise with HK office to amend / customize product range based on customers’ needs.
Propose a cost efficient way to deliver our product message to retailers & end users including: BTL, Positioning, messaging, benefits, promotional mix & sales tools.
Communicate with HK / China office for new product sourcing with OEM, working closely with the sourcing manager in HK.
Working in close collaboration with internal team as well as customers, understand product packaging, design & etc. Managing and owning a full critical path of the entire product lifestyle.

Desired Skills & Experience

Bachelors Degree
MBA is preferred.
3-10 years’ experience in a similar product management, marketing, or business development role including experience in managing a product line, life cycle , pricing, and forecasting and supply/demand responsibility
Will have worked closely with major multiples in a customer facing role.
Knowledge of current New Product Development systems.
The ability to work unaided and on your own initiative is a key.
Experience of dealing with suppliers.
Engaged in extensive research work in FCMG products (not food)
Strong customer focus with a demonstrated track record of successful customer interactions.
Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, relationship building, analytical, project management and planning skills are necessary to be successful in this position.
Willing to travel outstation at any given time.
