Making headlines at the 33rd edition of Berlin half marathon on Sunday is the death of a 24- year- old amateur runner. Police said the man who was not publicly identified, collapsed shortly before the finish line. Efforts were made to resuscitate him to no avail; he later died in the hospital. Another 43- year- old man died in similar circumstance in 2010.
In another development, two people were stabbed after rival groups of fans clashed in Rome ahead of the Serie A derby between AS Roma and SC Lazio.
Picture footage revealed police in riot gears scuffling with a group of supporters who threw rocks and bottles near Rome’s Stadio Olimpico.
During the clashes, businesses in the area around the stadium were forced to close, said Rome mayor Gianni Alemanno.
In a similar event, ten Tottenham Hotspur supporters were injured in a Knife attack by masked assailants in Rome ahead of the Europa League match with Lazio last year.
