90-year-old Widow Kidnapped In Delta

Mrs Egbeshire Otovwievwie, said to be the mother of the national vice chairman of National Union of Petroleum , Energy and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, has been abducted from her residence in Olomu Kingdom, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, by five suspected kidnappers.

The kidnappers, who reportedly stormed her house in the early hours of the Friday in a Toyota Camry car caught the community youths unawares, and succeeded in whisking the 90-year-old away.

Ogoni-Oghoro I, the Ohworode of Olomu kingdom, HRM, Ovie R. L. Ogbon, condemned the abduction, and appealed to her captors to release her unconditionally.

Mr. Simon Ebrobota, President General of Oviri- Olomu, also condemned the act and urged the kidnappers to release the old woman.

“Mrs. Egbeshire was kidnapped early this morning (Friday) at about 12.30am at her house at Esie Street in Oviri- Olomu. The kidnappers came in a Toyota Camry saloon car and made straight to the old woman’s house,” a source said, adding, “All attempts by the community youths to block the vehicle while leaving was abortive as a result of the indiscriminate shooting by the kidnappers to scare the community youths.”
