Power Generation: FG Targets 315,000mw By 2030

Nepa

In what seems like a rather tall ambition, the Federal Government yesterday launched an energy master plan that would put the country on the path to achieving 315,113 MegaWatts of electricity generation in 17-years.

This target was arrived at with a projection that by 2030 (17-years from now), the country’s population would have attained 300million.

Declaring open a one day sensitisation workshop and public presentation of the Renewable Master Plan organised by the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), the Minister of Science and Technology, Prof Okon Bassey, said the second edition of the Renewable Master Plan (REMP) was an improvement on the first which was undertaken in 2005.

  1. We are not surprised to hear FG romance such tall dreams. The little that’s been generated, where’s it? The nation grovels on in darkness yet you got d guts to make unrealistic promises. It’s not your fault but that of the passive Nigerian citizens who accept whatever comes their way as the Lord’s making. THERE WAS A DREAM CALLED NIGERIA . . .
