Stratus Africa Ltd (Oil & Gas): Logistics and Facilities Manager

We are a newly formed company supplying ICT services within the Oil & Gas Industry based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Formed in April 2012, we are looking for a Nigerian National who is an experienced Logistics and Facilities Manager with great people management skills.

The Logistics and Facilities Manager is responsible for all areas relating to Procurement, Facilities and Hardware to ensure the smooth and timely procurement and delivery of goods (supply chain management). Coordination, correct storage, record of goods and the upkeep of all Hardware is a must in this role. This is a small, but busy team and you will be required to support, coach and develop their skills.

The pace is quick, and being a newly formed company there is a lot to be done. You will need to be able to multi- task and deliver to tight deadlines.

Job Title: Logistics and Facilities Manager

Job Description

Procurement:
Document business processes to maintain compliance of generating, negotiating and placing various contracts and orders with selected suppliers.
Responsible for the frameworks and documentation for various contracts, prices and delivery schedule and leading contract negotiations as and when required.
Develop business by gaining new contracts, analyzing logistical problems and producing new solutions to ensure delivery of goods is within timeframe required.
Provide weekly reporting to Management team of current status of all procurement activities, including record of proactive management of suppliers.
Coordinate the procurement activities with facility, hardware team members.
Facilities and Warehousing
Oversee the management of facilities through ensuring best practice is followed, this includes ensuring storage rooms are clean, organized and air conditioned as required.
Manage and complete regular reviews of facilities to guarantee standards are maintained on a continuous basis.
Monitor the quality, quantity, and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods alongside procurement, facilities and hardware team members.
Hardware
Work with the Maintenance and Repair Supervisor to organize and manage the hardware management cycle.
Understand the general maintenance and repair of computers, peripherals and electonrics and experience coordinating these activities alongside internal staff and vendors.
Create with the Supervisor procedures around the planning, design, testing, installation and connection of computers and peripherals in a network, including troubleshooting hardware, network and software problems prior to the handover to the client.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5 – 8 years’ experience with Procurement, Faculties and Warehouse management or Maintenance and Repair
  • Accredited platform specialist(APS) on all HP Products and be a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
  • Computers and Electronics – Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware
  • Integrity – Job requires being honest, hardworking and ethical
  • Excellent people management and supervisory skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
