Stop daydreaming and face reality – PDP Lawmaker Tells Newly formed Opposition, APC

buhari89Honourable Muraina Saubana Ajibola, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ibarapa North and Ibarapa Central Federal Constituency of Oyo State has described as an empty threat, the declaration by newly formed All Progressives Congress (APC) to take power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the centre in 2015.

The lawmaker stated this when speaking with the Nigerian Tribune, declaring that the newly formed opposition APC could not match the spread and formidability of the PDP as hard as it tried. Ajibola, who is also the chairman, House Committee on Petroleum (upstream), affirmed that the PDP still remained the party to beat in Nigeria, arguing that the country was not prepared for the kind of opposition that could not proffer alternative solution to the country’s problems, but mere propaganda and hallucination, which he said the combination of the ACN and all other parties represented.

He declared that the PDP was better positioned than the newly formed APC, whose leaders he said, were more interested in gaining power and positions to serve their selfish interest, rather than the interest of a majority of Nigerians and even their followers. Ajibola said it was not true that members of the PDP in the Senate and House of Representatives were preparing to join the APC, describing such as part of the propaganda stunt which the opposition party had come to be known.

He, therefore, enjoined parties in the proposed merger to focus on delivering dividends of democracy to the people in their respective states and stop visiting them with hardship, adding: “I advise them to stop day-dreaming and face the job for which they were elected.”
