RVP In Race Against Time For Real Madrid Tie As Clash With Camera At QPR Leaves Him With Sore Hip

article-2283345-18383EBE000005DC-844_634x401Manchester United goal-machine, Robin Van Persie faces a race against time to be fit for his club’s biggest game of the season so far – Champions League tie against Real Madrid on Tuesday week – after his day ended in a pit at Loftus Road on Saturday.

The Dutch striker hobbled out of the action yesterday after falling into a photographer’s hole by the side of the pitch as United pounded QPR 0-2.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said afterwards: ‘He collided with a camera in that dugout piece of ground. He’s got a sore hip.

‘I imagine it will be tender and sore for a few days.’

Ferguson however declined giving any guarantees the striker who has netted 19 in the Premier League alone, will be ready to face the Spanish giants in the last 16 second leg at Old Trafford.

‘I hope he’ll be ready,’ Ferguson said.
