The Super Eagles of Nigeria made the country proud yesterday as they beat giant killers, Burkina Faso 1-0 to lift the African Cup of Nations, AFCON trophy after 19 years.
President Jonathan who could not go to South Africa to cheer the team to victory sent a delegate led by the Senate president, David Mark. He wasn’t there physically, but he was there in the spirit.
A source said the president jumped off his seat when he heard the final whistle.
The president will host the team on Tuesday.
