Janet Jackson has tied the knot with Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Bana. Jackson, 46, and Al Bana, 37, have been dating since they met in Dubai in 2010, but the private pair kept their relationship on the wraps until last year, ET Online reports.
The couple confirmed their recent nuptials in a statement sent exclusively to ET. “The rumours regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony,” the pair explained.
Her marriage to Al Bana will be Jackson’s third marriage. She eloped with singer James DeBarge in 1984, which ended in annulment. She went on to secretly marry her longtime friend and collaborator Rene Elizondo in 1991.
“I’m getting older and I feel more settled,” Jackson told Harper’s Bazaar of her relationship with Al Mana. “We have a deep bond, a deep connection.”
Meeting Al Bana may be the best thing to have happened to Jackson who was once known for showing off the mammaries; she stopped just about the time she met Wissam…or maybe she figured she wasn’t getting any younger.
