Kano State government and Shaanxi Auto Logistics and Solution have signed an agreement to procure 100 new luxury buses in a bid to ease the transportation difficulties experienced in the state capital.
Speaking shortly after signing the agreement at Government House Kano, the state governor, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso said the buses will be on road in a month’s time in view of the current transportation hurdle in Kano.
In a statement from his Director of Press, Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye, Kwankwaso said that under the first phase of the arrangement, 20 buses will be on road within the shortest possible time while the remaining 80 will be supplied in three months.
According to the statement the first 20 units will operate along Kwanar Dawaki, Zaria road to Yankura bus stop and Hotoro Dorawar na Abba to Yankura bus stop.
Kwankwaso also called on wealthy individuals in the state to join hands with the government in tackling the transportation difficulties of the citizens and to generally move the state forward.
