Contrary to fears that Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel has been sidelined by injury and will not make the Eagles’ squad to the Orange Africa Cup of Nations later this month, informationnigeria.com can report that the starlet is in good shape and has joined the rest of his team mates in camp.
Mikel arrived the camp of the Super Eagles in Faro, Portugal on Saturday and has now joined the other members of the squad in training.
Media officer for the Super Eagles, Ben Alaiya, has confirmed that Mikel has reported to camp and is doing well.
“Mikel is super fit and trained with the rest of the squad [Sunday] morning,” Alaiya said. “He will train again in the evening at 4:45pm Nigerian time, so no fears about any injury to the star midfielder.”
The Super Eagles are drawn in Group C alongside Zambia, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia.
