It was more garlands for Nollywood in the east African country of Uganda when self-styled bad boy, Jim Iyke clinched two awards last night at the Kampala Nile Awards. He wasn’t alone as he had the beautiful company of Ghanian actress, Nadia Buari who also won an award.
While Jim Iyke won an award for his role in the Obi Emelonye directed flick, ‘Last flight to Abuja’ as well as Entertainment Entrepreneur Award, Nadia Buari won in the Best Role Model category.
In a related development, Jim Iyke has lampooned organizers of the African Movie Academy Awards saying the glamorous show piece event is not living up to standards. “I’ve been to different awards and I cannot even put the AMAA’s in the same category. The management need to know that times are changing and soon some of their strategies will be obsolete,” the actor said.
