Globacom Chairman Donates N534m To Bayelsa Relief Fund

Globacom Chairman, Otunba Mike Adenuga GCON, earlier today, donated the sum of $3.4m (N533,800,000) to the Bayelsa Flood Relief Fund. The donation was disclosed by Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson in a press release made available to newsmen in the state capital of Yenagoa.

According to information gathered from the statement, Adenuga made the handsome donation when the state governor, Seriake Dickson, led a delegation to visit the business mogul in his Abuja residence on Monday.

Adenuga was quoted in the statement as saying he was moved by the devastating flood and plight of the victims.

Adenuga who added that his donation was intended to provide additional succour to the people of the state, commended the steps taken by governments at all levels in cushioning the effects, both during and after the floods.

While receiving the cheque, Dickson commended Adenuga for his philanthropic gesture and for showing concern and love for the people of Bayelsa state.

The governor also gave assurances that the money would be judiciously utilized. The governor also used the occasion of the visit to inform Adenuga that he had set up a post flood management committee headed by former NSA, Gen. Owoeye Andrew Azazi; including other eminent personalities of the state as members.
