Former RCCG pastor berates Adeboye for welcoming politicians in to their annual Holy Ghost congress

A former pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Bankole Solomon, has criticized the General Overseer of the church, Pastor E A Adeboye, for allowing politicians i.e President Jonathan, into their annual RCCG Holy Ghost congress and turning it into a political congress.

According to a statement released by Bankole who said he left the church as pastor in 2010 but still worships there, the church programme has now turned to a ‘supermarket where charlatans and political opportunists come shopping. He questioned why President Jonathan should be allowed to stand on their ‘Once sacred alter’ and speak deceitfully and indirectly campaign for 2015 during a spiritual gathering

Read Bankole Solomon’s full statement after the cut…

“I know this post will attract a sharp condemnation because I worship in RCCG and I was once a pastor before I resigned voluntarily because of rights violations in the name of religion. I resigned in December 2010 but I am still worshiping there as an ordinary member. So, whatever I have here is without prejudice.

“Holy ghost congress of our great church is now a political congress where all shades of corrupt leaders will mount our altar to fool Nigerians on what they will do.

“Holy Ghost congress is now a supermarket where all kinds of people like charlatans and political opportunist come shopping turning God to father Christmas to give them end of the year bonus.
“Jonathan was even there turning our once sacred altar to political podium talking deceitfully and indirectly campaigning for 2015. My question is this? On what ground was president Jonathan allowed to speak to people. Is he a pastor? Because the gathering is purely a spiritual gathering and event.

“I’ve been a pastor in Redeemed for the past 10 years and I’ve not got any opportunity to sit on dat altar not to talk of holding mic. If because Jonathan is a President and he is recognized, it means some are more equal than others.

“Immediately I left camp on Saturday morning, I looked at the camp very well because I know that would be the last time I will set my foot to that Eagle Square called Redeemed camp.”

Dont the ‘former pastor’ know that the bible says we shoild respect those in authority?
If he voluntarily resign, he could as well leave the church and establish his own church becos that is the habit of those that has put their hands on the plough nd looked back.

Church is a spiritual hospital where people with all manners of spiritual diseases cum physical diseases go to meet Dr JESUS the greatest physician of all time for healing, so politicians too are no exception because they are first and foremost human beings that JESUS died for, animals generally shall never come to church because JESUS never died for they!most importantly JESUS said in his word that “I will in no wise cast away anyone that comes to me”.Whenever and where ever leader(s) be it constitutional/traditional leader(s) are present in any gathering you are commanded by God in HIS word that you honour them.

I was there on that day too and to me, I don’t see anything wrong in what my daddy E A Adeboye did, by allowing us to pray for our President, because when it is well wit our President, it will be well wit us and Nigeria too. Our Leaders need our Prayers n anyone in high position is allowed to be honoured. My dear daddy Adeboye, ride on sir n I pray that God wil continue to strengthen u n give u divine wisdom in all. I won’t be surprised dat he was critised, because even Jesus Christ was critized and Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus as well. So who is a normal pastor who I’m sure has ulterior motives not to talk less of pastor Adeboye. And the issue of Private Jet, Jesus ordered his disciples to go and bring him d best horse n telll whomevr that ask that he s in need of it, so private Jet will make them to serve God better, y can’t dey use

too unfortunate for mr bankole solomon. his statement is a reflection of his over-ambitious ignorance. how he managed to deceive the church for 10years, should be questioned, because he never knew christ. christ came for the sinners, if he takes the president for a sinner, then he should know that only the sick need physician..

men truely called by merciful God cant talk like that because leaders bible told us are give by God not by men yet is an altal of God and not a man of GOD should be by example of humility to respect and not that way

‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotted son , that whosoever believeth in him should not persh, but have everlasting life’ . John 3 – 16. If God can do this for us why can’ we love urSeif as brothers and sisthers . What pastor adeboye did was okay. Mr bankole is a political caftarian [ He left the position of pastor to floor member from member to absentee . you know he has nothing to deliver.

Mr. Bankole Solomom if truely u’re once a pastor who have lead a congregation for ten year, u must ‘ve lead ur members wrongly. Haven’t u read in d bible that Jesus seek for sinners & cast non away who came Him or u have a different bible? Jonathan is our President & a christian. If u rgd him as a sinner nothing wrong in coming it might be one dt qualify for heaven. Mr. Bankole study ur bible very well. U are d one dt lay his on plough & look back.

I don’t even care to know your name. Why are u beefing our daddy? In Ten good years as a pastor, what did u do? What really made u resign… Bad belle dey worry u. Shey u no dey among people wey poison papa recently. My brothers and sister from what the so called Bankole said, it’s obvious that He’s jealous. He says no wonder every pastor wants to fly on a jet… He has jealousy for daddy. Come unto me all ye that labour and heavy laden and I’ll give u rest. The situation of this country is enough to go back to correcting our ways with God, just as Mr prsident did. If pope could commiserate and acknowledge the instability in Nigeria, don’t u think we need God fearing Leaders?. Except the Lord build a city, they build in vaine they that build it. Except the Lord watch a city they stay up but in vain they that watch….Psalm 127.. Solomon, go back to papa nad ask him to pray for u cos where u’re going may be too dangerous.

Having read Mr Bankole’s submission nd d various comments by several contributors, i can say that only few understand wat bankole’s view. Mr bankole nevr frown against jonathan’s coming 2 d camp nd respect hm as d presidnt nor dat d ppl ought nt 2 av prayed 4 d presidnt nd d country, rather he only called d religious leaders should not allow politicians 2 use an holy gathering as a medium of systematic campaign. Wat Jonathan had done by visitn d camp s 2 achieve 2 goals, 1, to meet Jesus 2, to run a systematic campaign as al politicians do. Check d bible nd tell whr an unholy, deceitful person had bn sympatetically allow 2 near d alter, bt al can come n2 d church. Take another instance of dat of Obasanjo, a christain nd pastor who once visited d RCCG congress now lounches a Musque few weeks ago, using God’s house 4 political strategy

    Pastor Bankole…
Do you fear God..? Are you a true Pastor…? Or have you ever read the Scripture carefully…?

Who make you the Judge…? Is politicians not humans….? Who created them….? do you think without God can President Jonathan be a President….? Do you have kids…? If you do… Have you ever condemn your child or children to death, just because they commit sin…? Are you telling us that you are more intelligent than God….? That God can not handle His own….? Do you know that you just insulted God by speak ill of His Servant….?

I’m not a member of RCCG…. But as I’m talking to you right now… My heart is bleeding for this insult….

Pastor… You’ll just have to go and make restitution to your Pastor…! Ask God to show you mercy…! Until you do dat, you have case before God…!!!

mr bankole was bin logical. though 2 harsh u butressng his point. neva mind religious leaders must checkmate those they allow on their sacred alters. but leaders ar honourd by God so we should welcome dem also

Pastor Bankole am very sori 4 wat i want to say, as a spiritual person, u knws wat book of lyf says abt our leaders. Wel u shuld nt feel jealous of any man instead pray dat God shuld lift u nd ur ministry up. It is commonly said dat ‘let us gv honour to him it is due’ b’cos congress is mean’t 4 spiritual peep, d president of d natn shuld nt be observed if he cmes, i wil neva subject to dat idea, pastor Bankole, i dont see anytin wrong in wat pastor E A ADEBOYE did. Wen u eventually plant ur own church, start cursing ur president nd let us see weda it wil bi wel wit d memba of ur church. Tanks

He said we shouldn’t judge them, even as glaring as their (maybe) mistake might be, don’t let us judge them. The name of the Lord is a strong tower, no matter who comes in, thieves, murderers, politicians, witches; none can bring it down. So, chill, & just sigh when u feel something is being done wrong. We’re just ordinary people, we’re Adam.

How do you know that Mr. President is not worthy to stand on that Alter, are you God? The Bible said we should not judge. As a Pastor, why not pray for him? you resigned because you were not opportune to steep on the Alter or hold mic having been Pastor for good 10 years.
Now you are leaving RCCG finally because of your selfish interest, Good luck!

What our Daddy did was not wrong, after all the bible say we should pray for our leaders (1Timothy 2:1-3) Every bible scholar should know this. It is not expected of our Daddy to go to Aso Rock and pray for President Goodluck Jonathan but if he finds his way to the church (Redemption Camp), he should not be cast out. As a pastor, you can not do without unbelievers in your congregation if then, why is called the church? The church is meant for everybody. It is our fathers house. I think Daddy is on tract.

I think people are getting things wrong here the view of Bankole should not be totally condem becos there is a bit of truth in it christain gathering should not be made for campagining. Daddy G.O was just following the command of God to letter but if care is not taken this evil politician in Nigeria will take advantage of that. When frm Gov. Ahemd Tinubu was looking for a vote in his term he came to d camp to systematically campain and since then i av not seen him again though Daddy GO rename him after Abraham. I know for sure that daddy is only longing after lost soul. Bible says watch and pray.

Pastor Bankole, all what I see here is just mere transfer of aggression on d president resulting from d disallowance u were placed on, getting 2 d alter or holding d mic. Pls dnt b a critic. Ur observation s not winning a soul neither will it deter ppl in gathering n worshiping in d same place u left. God said “if men refuse 2 praise m, I ll raise stones..” I pray dat ma place shall not b occupied in d gathering of d saints. Nobody holly pass ( glass house… Stone)

My dear pastor solomon, i undstand ur plight. Mixin spiritualty wit politics wasn’t a gud idea. Wat i mean is nt as if mr presido was nt welkum in d arena, bt since it was purely a spiritual affair, he shud av bn der on d basis of bein blessed n nt d one blessin bcos he has little or no annointin. Moreso he (mr presido) shudn’t av used dat avenue 2 discus politics or portray his ambition, he shud av seen d avenue as an opportunity 2 share his testimonies n glorify d name of God. My advice 2 pastor Adeboye is; he shudn’t mingle spirituality wit personality so he won’t b regarded as a sycophant
